Brisbane Queensland Australia
On a one way ticket from Manila Philippines to Brisbane Australia in 2011.
In August 2011, after spending one and a half months traveling around in the Southern Philippines, I decided to apply to a school in Northern Australia called 'University of the Nations, Youth With A Mission'. I had found out they had a school campus in Queensland that was pioneering a"Discovery DTS (Discipleship Training School)" with an emphasis on island hopping while camping, hiking and swimming on the Whitsunday Islands near the Great Barrier Reef. After researching their school and applying, I was accepted and then applied for my Australian 1 year working holiday visa. At that time it was $350 USD and it allowed me to work if I wanted to get a job while there for the year.
The Whitsundays- Airlie Beach
I arrived on a one way ticket to join a DTS with 'Youth With A Mission' in Airlie Beach. Here are some shots of Airlie Beach while walking around the beach town.

New Year Chai tent in Airlie Beach
From Christmas Day on to New Years, we had a Chai tent set up in the local park near the beach and opened it up to any of the locals or the multitude of travelers to come and enjoy tea and coffee and hang out in a relaxed atmosphere. It led to great conversations and opportunities to learn and share with travelers from all around the world.
