I went to Honduras to explore, learn about the culture, volunteer teach and practice my Spanish.
While I was there (on two separate trips) I filmed a variety of locations and outdoor adventure activities, and have organized it into
the following videos to help you if you are interested in also exploring in Honduras.
It is a beautiful country, with amazing people; and I can easily recommend going there.

Here's an afternoon spent at the local Tea & Chocolate Place, in Copan Ruinas. They have a huge assortment
of locally made products that are grown with environmentally friendly practices.

This is a hidden or secret waterfall called Cascada El Ruby or Ruby Waterfalls in Santa Rita Honduras (near Copan Ruinas Honduras).
This was a day my friend Luis and I hiked to the waterfall and got to jump in.

Shortly after arriving in Copan Ruinas Honduras, I was able to experience 'Semana Santa' or 'Holy Week.' Here's a video of the two days they spend creating elaborate "rugs" in the streets in front of the Catholic Church in the town central park.
Here is one of the main reasons I chose to come to Copan Ruinas; the Mayan Ruins of Copan. This was from an amazing couple days spent exploring the Mayan site. I was fortunate enough to be able to enter the park at sunrise and rent the park to myself for 2 hours alone to film my drone shots for this video. It was really surreal to walk around alone in there at dusk. I would highly recommend it if you ever get the chance. A tip: if you want to fly a drone in the park you will need to sign a release/contract with the park office and arrange the time to fly. But it's easy and they are super helpful there!
I love riding horses so I jumped at an opportunity to have a guided tour of the surrounding mountains of Copan Ruinas through the rivers, past ancient Mayan Ruins, and up to a local Eco-Lodge called Hacienda San Lucas. It is a beautiful ranch style lodge and I highly recommend checking them out! They have great ratings on Trip Advisor, and here's their website for more info: http://www.haciendasanlucas.com/
This is a day trip to a natural hot springs spa/resort in the mountains of Honduras, called Luna Jaguar Spa Resort. They have an incredible assortment of water features taking full advantage of the naturally occurring hot water there. Here's there website if you want to check out more information: http://www.lunajaguarspa.com
Here is a day spent exploring Macaw Mountain Bird and Animal Park. It's a really cool place with a ton of protected birds/animals you can interact with. Some of them are rescued from unhealthy situations or are given a place to rehabilitate before being released back into the wild. We definitely had an up close and personal experience there!
This was a day spent up in the mountains overlooking Copan Ruinas, Honduras. We visited a small village called Pintada that was made popular by the local women that handcraft bracelets, scarfs, bandanas and corn husk dolls there; and sell them to provide for their community. I highly recommend going there and supporting their cause, they are really amazing and friendly people there.
Here is a day that I went with my host family to a zipline canopy tour in Copan Ruinas. They have 16 ziplines, every one in ranging distances. It was really cool to fly my drone along with us, it was my first time attempting it!
This was a day spent riding road bikes to Santa Rita from Copan Ruinas Honduas with the group ‘Urban Promise Honduras’ also known as ‘Trekkers’. It was about a 12 mile ride. We had a few tire issues on the way, but it turned out to be an awesome day getting to know some of the youth in Copan Ruinas that are involved with this program. They do a lot of good things in the community there, here’s their website if you want to learn more about them:

While staying in Copan Ruinas I've found it's easier to just rent one place then try to hop from one hotel/hostel to another. I was initially set up with this family hotel as part of a homestay program to study Spanish, but I liked the family so much I decided to rent a room here for my entire trip to use as my home base. Here's a promotional video I made for the Hotel Cuna Maya, and if you ever visit Copan I highly recommend this hotel to stay at; they are walking distance to EVERYTHING and the family is extremely friendly.
Near the Cuna Maya Hotel (within walking distance) there is a Butterfly park called "Mariposarios". It was a $5 entrance fee and you get to walk among butterflys in a large protected facility. Afterwards, you can go enjoy the large swimming pool with cascading waterfalls!
This is a tour of the Welchez Coffee Farm, near Copan Ruinas Honduras. They produce high quality gourmet
coffee here and I highly recommend going to check it out if you are in the area.

Here is an afternoon spent at an awesome local hilltop hotel in Copan Ruinas Honduras, called The Buena Vista Hotel. They have a beautiful pool and views of the whole town of Copan, and I highly recommend checking them out!
Here we got to spend a few hours at a sugar cane farm where they harvest the sugar cane once a year to produce raw sugar syrup to create different products. We enjoyed watching the process from sugar cane to final product, and even getting to enjoy some of the sugary treats.
