Heading to Guangzhou, Guangdong China
In 2013 I bought a one way ticket from Portland OR to Guangzhou China. I had a couple American friends that were living and teaching in the city, that offered to let me stay at their apartment while I had time to find my own accommodations and English teaching positions.
The demand for English teachers there is phenomenal! If you're considering teaching English in China, I would definitely recommend it as a great possibility and opportunity. Just make sure to do your research first. Now, I've spent about 3 years in total teaching and traveling around in China, it's an amazing country to both live and travel in. Here are some of my experiences there:

Flying from LAX to CAN. I've flown back and fourth several times to China now, and I've always flown with them. They have always offered good service,
and the flight attendants always seem really friendly and cheerful to the passengers. Oh, and the food wasn't too shabby either!

Local Radio/TV studio 'Radio Foshan'
I went with some friends and got to spend the day at the local Foshan Radio Station. It was cool to see where they recorded and broadcast for Chinese TV and radio. They had really nice facilities and a really professional setup. My friends helped "DJ FAT" record some voiceovers and promotional type stuff.
Guangdong Experimental High School
One of my first schools to volunteer teach at in China was the 'Guangdong Experimental High School'. It is a large and popular high school in Guangzhou, Guangdong province. I helped my friend create our own curriculum we taught to the students, preparing our class of seniors for their IELTS testing, one of the required English tests for them to pass in order to study abroad.
I taught mostly on evenings while in Guangzhou, so that left a lot of day time open for me to explore the city. It's fun to take the underground metro and explore the many famous spots around the city. You can buy a metro/bus card at any 7-11 or Circle K and load it with 10 to 20 US dollars and it will last for a while.
Here are some of the local spots that are cool to check out.

Adventure Traveling in Guangxi Province
After finishing my semester long contract in Guangzhou, I had a one month vacation in February to travel as much as I could before school
picked back up again in March. I arranged with a local Chinese friend to plane, train and automobile around in a few different provinces and
explore some of the famous spots on my 'China bucket list'. Here are some of the experiences from those adventure travels.
