Celebrating 2014 Chinese New Year in Guangzhou
Here's a short video from the beginning of January when I was still living and teaching English in Guangzhou. Here, a few friends of mine and I celebrated the Chinese New Year cooking dumplings and hot pot together in my apartment. It was a great time learning more about the Chinese culture and how important food plays a roll in the yearly celebrations.
Beijing
My new school contract paid for a weeklong trip and exploration of Beijing with a group of my new students. We traveled around the city to see as much as we could in the week. We took a 24 hour first class train from Nanning, Southern China up to Beijing. It was a really cool experience. Here are some pictures of the places I visited in Beijing.
The Great Wall Beijing- Ju Yong Guan Pass
Going into February I had a monthlong vacation, free to travel around China. The first stop on my "China Bucket List" was visiting Beijing for a week. While there, some of the spots I got to visit were: Tianmen Square, The Forbidden City, The Palace Museum, the 2008 Olympics site, The Great Wall, and some more cool local spots. Here's some of the pictures from those adventures.
